Summary of Duties:
|
The Claims Officer:
· Works efficiently and effectively at all times on administrative claims management tasks, applies initiative and judgement to support accurate and timely claims management service provision for medical treatment only and low risk claims.
· Works under the direction of the Senior Claims Case Manager on key claims administrative processes observing the requirements of legislative timeframes and departmental protocols.
· Provides claims administrative assistance to the injury management team to support the effective management of claims including the extraction of injury management correspondence, payment of claims accounts, assessments for rehabilitation and entering information from prescribed medical certificates
· Contributes to the development of efficient work practices within the injury management section by meeting quality assurance and complying with work policies and procedures.
· Undertakes initial risk assessment for all new claims and effectively case managing all MTO and low risk claims within required practices.
· Works under the instruction of the Senior Claims Case Manager and assists and takes advice from the Claims Case Manager as required.
